About

Hi, I'm Krissy!  This is my blog.

Welcome to Krissy's Creations!  My passion is baking and cooking!  This passion began when my husband, Steve, started playing Professional Baseball.  He left for the season and I had much more time on my hands.  I got in the kitchen and haven’t left!  My passion continues to grow, and so do my kitchen skills.  I’m confident in the kitchen and there isn’t anything I wont try!

About Krissy

Baking and Cooking has quickly became a big part of my world.  It has a special place in my heart!  And my biggest support system is my husband.  He lets me purchase all these unique and wonderful ingredients, loads and loads of cake stands and plates, and of course those special baking pans and tools.  I'm sure the pay off is all the delicious treats I make him :).

I started baking as a hobby.  My husband was a Professional Baseball player and left for practice and games a lot.  I got bored while he was gone so I thought I would start baking.  I started with easy recipes, like cupcakes, and quickly moved to baking more complicated treats, like Croissants.  I learn everything from trial and error.  I have no formal training and haven't taken any baking or cooking classes.  I am most of proud of being able to learn on my own.  However, I will never turn away advice from other bakers and cooks, and I do turn to the internet often for answers to my questions.

I am just at the beginning of my blogging and baking "career".  I want to continue to improve in my baking, my blogging, and my food photography.  I am far from being a professional (Trust me! I have my fair share of disasters in the kitchen - Luckily they are getting more few and far in-between), but I hope to some day make a career out of baking.  A girl can dream right?!

About Krissy's Creations

I love finding new recipes and creating them in my own kitchen.
I love being creative with new and fun ingredients.
I love making, beautiful, delicious, homemade food.

I started this blog to show people my love for baking and cooking.  And to show them that anyone can get in the kitchen and make anything they wish.  You just need to be confident and determined and you can achieve anything your heart desires!

The kitchen is a place of joy and peace for me.  My hope is that through Krissy's Creations, you will be confident in the kitchen and also find joy and peace in YOUR kitchen.

Outside My Kitchen

Outside my much-used kitchen, I am a stay-at-home-mom of a brand new baby boy, Ezekiel.  I spend my days taking care of him while trying to balance being a good wife and managing our familes small business.  Me and my husband own an online small business where we sell sporting goods and sporting shoes online.  We are very blessed to have this business as we can take it on the road wherever life brings us.

{If you are interested in more about our business, you can go here!}

On my down time, I watch my husband pursue his dream of playing Professional Baseball, bake and cook a lot, go grocery shopping, and watch TV, such as the Food Network and How I Met Your Mother.

The Future of Krissy's Creations

My hope is that Krissy's Creations will continue to grow.  I truly dream of this blog growing into something big.  A cookbook, a small catering business, a storefront, and more!  The sky is the limit.  Hard work, determination, and passion go into this blog and this will never stop.  I will continue to put everything I have into Krissy's Creations - Promise!

My high hopes for Krissy's Creations all come through faith.  I am a woman of God and put my faith in God that he will turn this blog into something big!  I believe!  And I hope you follow me through this wonderful journey :)!

    Cinnamon Amish Bread~

I loved making the friendship bread that came from a starter bag, but because it would only come around once in awhile, I decided to come up with my own recipe by figuring out what was in the original bag... My little one, Trinity, loves this bread. Your house will smell wonderful when it is baking... I make four loaves at once because everyone wants me to share a loaf with them when I make it.
    Rhonda Jacobs~Colorado Springs, Colorado.

    Ingredients
5 Cups plus 3 Tablespoons all purpose flour
3 Cups plus 3 Tablespoons sugar
2 Cups plus 3 Tablespoons milk
    2 Cups vegetable oil
    6 Eggs
2 Large boxes vanilla instant pudding
    1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
    1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
    1 Teaspoon salt
    2 Teaspoons cinnamon
    2 Teaspoons vanilla

    Directions
Pour all ingedients into a large mixing bowl. Mix together until well blended. Pour into 4 greased bread loaf baking pans. Generously sprinkle the top with cinnamon sugar. Bake at 325 degrees at higher altitudes or 350 degrees at lower altitudes, for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center of the loaf, comes out clean. Makes four loaves.

    Enjoy~

I too started a food blog a few months ago just because I love being creative. However, I am really, really new at this and have so much to learn. In the meantime, I am enjoying reading other blogs (such as yours!) and finding lots of inspiration. I pinned your baked donuts recipe and am planning to make them for my family!
